Coffee & beer

Unaware that today would be my day off, I didn't really have anything for the day planned, but instead managed to get around to a couple of things I'd been meaning to do. The most obvious way to start the day (I didn't get up and get ready at 8am for nothing) was to learn how to use the fancy coffee machine. Although it took me considerably longer than it would have taken any of the others, I was pleased to enjoy my first self-made coffee!

After spending the most part of the afternoon looking up places to go and things to do in Haarlem, we later visited the beach at Zandvoort to drink beer and watch the sunset. Although a more famous beach than Parnassia, it is in my opinion, inferior. Still very pretty, but more covered with beach restaurants and immediately backing onto the town, it is more of a city beach. Nevertheless, the beer was cold and the sunset was lovely.

Suddenly remembering that I was supposed to be checking in for the night shift in twenty minutes, and being half an hour away, it was time for a speedy death-defying ride home through the pitch black nature park. Never before have I been so pleased to have remembered to bring bike lights. Tot volgende keer!
