Wine night

After a streak of busy days with the wedding it was lovely to have such a chilled day to clean only a handful of rooms and enjoy a great lunch (still eating leftovers) in the sun on the patio, with its new working fireplace and sunroof.

Finishing early gave us the opportunity to head into the the centre to the Hema to search for a notoriously popular wine brand. Satisfied with ourselves and our foolproof plan of a wine and dinner evening with friends at the hostel, dreams were immediately dashed by a flat tire 5 minutes into the journey, and even though we eventually made it to Hema (me enjoying a free ride on the back of the one functioning bike) we were set back again by not finding the wine we had set out to look for.

After returning home empty handed, and taking the bike to the fietsdoktor, for a new inner tube, we managed to find some substitute wine (4 bottles of it) at the supermarket in time for a delicious vegan green thai curry.

With the evening escalating slightly, we never made it out to the party we had planned on but instead finished drinking in the reception area in the dark (after the manager had locked up, turned out the lights, and gone home) just later than 5am.

Making it to bed for 6, before a shift starting at 9 the following morning, to make breakfast for 3 party groups and clean all 55 beds between 11 and 3, was in hindsight not my best idea. Fortunately a delicious lunch of leftover pea spread on fresh bread with fresh mint and honey tea came to the rescue.
Hello lunch
A super chilled out evening of drawing and watching films was perfect to relax and prepare myself for what should be a reeeally exciting day tomorrow, but more that later...tot dan!
